Nelda was born to Russell Clay and Nellie Ruth (Fisher) Greenwood (both deceased) on April 18th 1949. Nelda was the first of five children and called Paragon Indiana her home in her early life. Her brother Michael Ross Greenwood preceded her in death. Her other brothers, Russell Clay Greenwood Jr. (wife Cindy) of Greenwood Indiana, Ricky Lee Greenwood (wife Robin) of Leesburg Florida, and Paul Robert Greenwood (wife Joyce) of Martinsville Indiana will miss her dearly. Nelda married Jim Parrish (who survives) earlier in life and had two wonderful children, Matthew Parrish (wife Tiffany) of Greenwood Indiana and Nannette Rose Watson of Hernando Mississippi, who survive her. Nelda later married Berlie Boyce who preceded her in death. Stepson Doug Boyce, his wife Joy and children Jordan, Ethan, Miranda, and Benjamin. Stepson Chris Boyce and children Jennifer and Joshua. Nelda also leaves behind 2 granddaughters Autumn and Summer Watson whom she treasured so deeply, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved so much.
Nelda went to Martinsville Indiana High School and was part of the class of 1967. She went on to study at Shelby State community college to become an RN. Nelda enjoyed helping other people and became a nurse for most of her working career. One of Nelda’s greatest joys was her family. Her hugs were a joy to get and her laughter infectious. Joining her around a table for a board game or boggle was a treat for anyone who played. She also enjoyed many crafts especially knitting, making many gifts for people that would be treasured.
