

Norma Jean Riggins, 82, of Southaven, MS passed away March 12, 2025. Mrs. Riggins was born on October 22, 1942 in Memphis, TN to the late Eldridge and Geneva Carver. She attended Southside High School. After high school she went to work for Sear’s in Memphis where she worked for 20 years. She later went to work for Hamilton Beach from where she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed tending her flower gardens and fishing. She and her husband had a vacation home at Moon Lake and they enjoyed spending time there. She was also crafty and would crochet afghans for her family members. Mrs. Riggins was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her family and one of her greatest joys in life was being “Mawmaw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry Gene Riggins; sisters, Leigh McDonald and Cecilia Carver; and her brother, James “Buddy” Carver. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Roberson of Southaven, MS; daughter, Debra McClain (James) of Hernando, MS; son, John Riggins (Nancy) of Sugarloaf Key, FL; grandchildren: Trey McClain (Jessica) of Hernando, MS; Jesse McClain (Whitney) of Collierville, TN; Leia Riggins of Doylestown, PA; Jon-Ryan (Kylie Bunbury) of Santa Fe, NM; and Josh Bellmard of Williams, OR; great-grandchildren: Madison and Jacob McClain of Hernando, MS; Isla and Nash McClain of Collierville, TN; Thomas and Patrick Barrett of Doylestown, PA; and Rumi and Asha Riggins of Santa Fe, NM; sisters: Bobbie Richardson (Eddie) of Memphis, TN; Brenda Jordan (Jimmy) of Somerville, TN; Linda McCauley (Ray) of Hernando, MS; and Allene Little (Warren) of Olive Branch, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
