

Orvil Lee Nichols, 87, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1938, in Booneville, MS, to Valcar and Hattie Nichols, Orvil’s life was a testament to his deep passion for music and faith.
A gifted musician, Orvil’s love for music shone through his work managing several radio stations, composing songs, and recording two albums with his wife. He was also an accomplished guitarist, whose music touched the hearts of many.
Orvil’s dedication to his faith was equally profound. For over 66 years, he served as a minister, pastoring at churches across Colorado, Tennessee, and Alabama, always seeking to share the love of the Lord. His unwavering devotion to Christ was evident in both his ministry and his daily life.
Orvil will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his music and faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valcar and Hattie Nichols, six siblings, and a son-in-law, Wayne Hussey.
Orvil leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Nellie Nichols; three children, Pam Hussey, Belinda Atkinson (Wayne), and Keith White (Lisa). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Chris Hussey (Amy), Chelsea Aycock (Hunter), Chelly Neal (Kevin), Cherie Demoran (Nick), Nichole Davis (Ben), Javier Vela (Kassie), Chase Jones (Rachel), Channing Jones, Chera Jones, Kristi Eads (Billy), and 27 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 12:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am at The Outpouring Church, 6700 Blocker St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
