Peggy Jane Pruitt, 78, of Memphis, TN passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Ms. Pruitt was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Velma Childers; and a brother, Tommy Childers. She is survived by her two brothers, Ret. Judge Robert. L. “Butch” Childers(Amy) and Jerry P. Childers; son, Ronnie Davis; daughter, Pamela J. Pruitt(Donnie); daughter, Shanna M. Jennings(Clay); grandchildren: Tracy Goff(Wesley), Richard Davis, Robert Aaron Davis, Alexis Jade Davis, and Aubrey L. Carmony(Zach); and great-grandchildren: Caleb Campbell, Logan Campbell, Connor Goff, Layton Goff, Eli Davis, Hendrix Davis, and Katie Anderton. She was a beautician and worked at Gould’s in Memphis in her younger years. She worked privately from home after her children were born. In her free time she enjoyed: reading, bird watching, and talking on the phone. She also loved her two dogs, Mimi and Mitzi. Ms. Pruitt was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Memphis. Her whole life was centered around her faith and the church. The family will receive friends at Brantley Funeral Home for a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery on Holmes Rd. In honor of Ms. Pruitt being a cancer survivor for 31 years, the family asked any memorials be made to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
