Peter Joseph Tutless, 89, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022. He was born on June 9, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from East Providence Senior High School, receiving All-State Hockey Honors in his senior year in 1951. He attended Northwood Prep School in New York where he was named to the first team All-American Prep School Hockey Team. He entered Brown University in 1952 and participated in in baseball and hockey team receiving All-Ivy Honors in junior and senior year in hockey. In 1956 he appeared on the cover of the official NCAA Hockey Guide. He was inducted into the Brown University Hall of Fame in 1981. Peter enlisted in the United States Air Force. He came a Lt. Colonel upon graduation in 1956 and flew the F4 Fighter Jet and had over 5,000 hours in the air. Peter retired from the Air Force 1982 and began his successful career in Real Estate. He was a season ticket holder and supporter for the River Kings Hockey team and Memphis Tigers Football. Peter was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Olive Branch, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Tutless, Viola E. Tutless Swedes; sister, Marion Donpierre and step-daughter, Paige Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Tutless; son, Peter J. Tutless, Jr.; daughter, Kelley Tutless; three stepchildren, Chris Young, Amy Loftis and Lauren Tutless. Peter also leaves behind four grandchildren, Peter A. Tutless, Brad Taylor, Ryan Young, Sean Young, and three great grandchildren, Rylee Loftis, Lyra Taylor, and Madison Loftis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Air Force Society, INC, P.O. A funeral service for Peter will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 8455 Germantown Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. A visitation will occur Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
