Rhonda earned a master’s degree in Reading at Memphis State University and worked a 28-year celebrated career in the West Memphis School District as a Reading Specialists, and finished her career in Desoto County School District.
After Retirement, she earned a Master Gardner certificate with completion of course studies from Mississippi State University. She loved working with and growing heirloom species, often reviving them from the yards of deceased loved ones.
Rhonda was best known for giving and caring for others. She was the foundation and glue of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David M. Byrd, daughter, Jenifer A. Byrd, son Clayton M. Byrd (Chelsea) and grandson, Rory Robert Byrd, Mother Ruby Nell Goff, and a brother, Lloyd N. Goff Jr. (Theresa), and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rhonda was preceded in death by her Father, Lloyd N. Goff, Sr.
Rhonda is a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. She was baptized at the age of 9 and was faithful to her God.
A Graveside service and burial will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Blocker Cemetery, 9501 Pigeon Roost Road, Olive Branch, MS 38654 with officiating by Pastor Jay Jay Ward and special remembrances by Pastor Danny Cooley.
