Olive Branch - Richard L. Metts, 81, of Olive Branch, MS, went home to be with his Lord December 16, 2010. Richard was born April 18, 1929 in Oxford, MS. He served in the U.S. Army, retired from Time DC Freight and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Martha Metts. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lottie Metts; children, Ricky Metts of Hernando, Ron and Sherry Metts of Southaven; grandchildren, Victoria, Nicole and Ryan Metts; siblings, Billy and Dot Metts and James and Louise Crump. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m., Sunday, December 19, and funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, December 20, both at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the National Alzheimer’s Association.
