Richard Louis Shelton

Richard Louis Shelton, 79 passed away November 30, 2014 at Brandon Nursing Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation and reception for family and friends will be held at 12:30 pm with services following at 2:00 pm on Friday Dec. 5th at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, MS. Private burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Shelton was born on March 8, 1935, to Orlando and Nora Vaughn Shelton and grew up in Olive Branch, MS. He graduated from Ole Miss. where he was a proud member of the baseball team that played in the 1956 College World Series. Richard lived most of his life in Jackson, MS., traveling the state as District Manager for Buick Motors while actively following his Ole Miss Rebels.

Survivors include his daughters Cindy Norris (Will) of Madison, MS, Susanne Barlow (Bobby) of Flora, MS. and Sherry Asbell (Greg) of Hot Springs Village, AR; grandchildren, Hunter, Hayley Anna and Hayes Norris, Jordan and Bishop Barlow and Katie Asbell Stamps; great-grandsons Eli and Owen Stamps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Driskell. The family sincerely appreciates nurses and staff at Brandon Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Shelton.
