Olive Branch, MS- Robbie Dale Cox, 78, of Olive Branch, passed away July 27, 2013, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Mr. Cox joined the U.S. Air Force in November 1953 and retired in May 1974 after 20 years of loyal service. After returning to Memphis, he went to work for the State of Tennessee with the Air National Guard, and he later retired from Shelby State Community College. His hobbies included camping, fishing, and using his handyman skills serving others. Robbie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Michelle Cox; his son, Samuel David Cox (Kim); 2 grandchildren, Ben Cox and Hannah Cox; and 3 siblings, Mary Mathews (Bobby), Jamie Whitehorn (Sherman), and Cooper Cox (Lynda). Lasting memorials may be directed to the Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 9631 Highway 5, Ashland, MS 38603, or the American Cancer Society. I am so sorry for the tremendous loss for your family. After viewing the photo gallery, I felt as if I knew him. What an incredible man with an incredible life. It looks like so many wonderful memories, and the memories will get you through. Peace be with you during this time.
