Robert Earle (Bobby) Allison, 61, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Bobby’s one true love, his wife, Toya, was by his side, as she had been for 44 years. Bobby was born on March 27, 1962 in Memphis, TN to the late George T. Allison, Jr. and Velma O. Allison. He is a 1980 graduate of Elliston High School in Memphis. He worked for the City of Olive Branch for 18 years and served as the Director of Fleet Services for the last three and a half years.
Bobby loved riding his Polaris with Toya and “checking the cows.” He was an avid motorcyclist and rode extensively in 13 states (mostly in the Western US) and visited three Canadian provinces. He loved old cars – Bobby never came out on the short end of a purchase or sale of anything with a motor. He had a quick wit and an unparalleled work ethic. He also loved eating his sister-in-law’s chocolate cake. He was a wonderful loving husband, a friend that could always be called upon, and a man whose handshake meant everything.
Bobby was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Hope Baptist Church where he served on the security team. It is Bobby’s faith in the saving grace of Jesus that gives him eternal joy and his family and friends blessed hope. The pain and tears of his loss will, in time, be replaced with the precious memories and laughter of a life well lived.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Ann Mize of Olive Branch, MS; maternal grandparents, Earle and Lois “Nanny” Bryson of Memphis, TN; and paternal grandparents, George and Lillian Allison of Tippo, MS. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Toya Allison; brother, Eddy Odom (Gayle); nieces and nephews: Johnny Mize (Laura), Kelli Mize, James Odom (Amy), Justin Odom, Lyndsey Johnson (Jerry), Kyle Rodgers (Halle), and Kaci Willard (Lanny); and 15 great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Hope Baptist Church on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ, our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:5-7
