Ruby Herrington Dickerson

Ruby Herrington Dickerson, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021. She was born on February 25, 1932 to the late John Allen Herrington and Bernice Forte Herrington. Mrs. Dickerson was the first Homecoming Queen at Olive Branch High School. She enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Memphis Chicks and Mississippi State Bull Dogs. She was a member of Goodman Oaks Church of Christ.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Tommy Dickerson, grandson, Shawn Dickerson, sister, Imogene Martin and a brother, Douglas Herrington.

She is survived by four children, Dale Dickerson (Sherry), David Dickerson (Kim), Doug Dickerson (Susan) and Don Dickerson (Lynn). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Meredith, Brad, Chris, Austin, Andy, Allison, and five great grandchildren, Brandon, Ava, Adam, Madelynn and Nash.

Funeral services will be held Saturday November 6, 2021 at Brantley Funeral Home at 12 noon. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers the family request that Memorial Contributions in Mrs. Ruby’s Memory be made to Goodman Oaks Church of Christ “General Fund” or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
