Rufus Earl Dear, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 21, 1944 to the late Willie and Dorothy Dear in Manghum, LA. Earl had a deep passion for his work, dedicating much of his life to being a mechanic. His skills were remarkable—whether it was tractors, trucks, or cars, there was no machine he couldn’t handle. Above all, Earl treasured his family and blended family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dorothy Dear. He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Jean Smith Dear and six children. Earl also leaves behind a host of blended family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
