Sadie Bumpus Hanna

Sadie Bumpus Hanna, 87, of Hernando, MS went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025. Sadie was born on August 11, 1938 in Byhalia, MS to the late Gordie Lee Bumpus and Jessner Baldwin Bumpus. She dedicated her life to being a Proverbs 31 woman. She always made sure that her house was a home for her family whether that be keeping the house clean, cooking, baking, or working in in her vegetable and flower gardens. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Mimi” to her grandchildren. Sadie was a strong Christian lady and had an unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus. She said at the end of her life that she was “ready to see the pearly gates.” Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Hanna, Jr.; siblings: Casey Sugg, Arnold Bumpus, Lilly Haney, Audrey Nichols, Leola Brandon, Leon Bumpus, Vivian Pierce, and Ruth Perkins. Sadie is survived by her daughter, Gail Hanna; son, Chris Hanna (Minerva); grandchildren, Roco Hanna and Chris Hanna, II; sister, Norma Jean Roberts; and brother, Sterling “Son” Bumpus (Ann). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at First Presbyterian Church, Hernando (1455 McIngvale Rd.), on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 1-2 pm with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 pm.
