Sally Hudgins, aged 96, passed away June 29, 2025 at Landmark of Desoto Nursing Home in Horn Lake, MS. Born on February 16, 1929, Sally was known for her fun-loving spirit and zest for life, always had a smile for everyone. She cherished family gatherings, particularly during the holidays, and was an avid player of chicken foot dominoes, Bunco and card games with her former neighborhood friends at the BVL Ladies Club and participated in many of their fund raising and community functions. She also looked forward to weekly games and outings with her former neighbor, Rose Costello, and friends. Sally was a former member of Coldwater Baptist Church and a member of the Lydia –Joy class and The Primetimers, going on many trips with her church family. She leaves behind a loving family: Carol Gulotta (Chris) of Olive Branch, MS, Susan Rinehart of Hernando, MS; son Mark Hudgins (Angela) of Bartlett, TN; grandchildren Gary Coop, Jessica Ludke, Jasmine Hudgins, Melissa Kocina: and great-grandchildren Brayden Cook, Ember Aberle and Adalynn Ludke. Sally also shared a special bond with Sharon Sheley, a longtime family friend and adoptive daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Maggie Olson and her son, Richard Hudgins. Services will be held at Brantley Funeral Home 6875 Cockrum Rd/Hwy 305, Olive Branch, MS on Wednesday July 2, 2025. Brother Tim Smith, former pastor at Coldwater Baptist and now teacher at Desoto Christian academy, will be officiating. Visitation is from noon to 2 followed by the service at 2pm. Interment will take place at a later date in Hernando Memorial Cemetery, 2801Memorial Dr, Hernando, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or The Tunica Humane Society in memory of Sally Hudgins. The family would also like to recognize Landmark of Desoto Nursing Home, Horn Lake, MS, where Sally spent the last 4 years of her life.
