Samuel Booth Lee, 70, of Southaven, MS went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2026. Sammy was born on March 15, 1956, in Natchez, MS to the late Vernon and Xer Lee. He worked for FedEx as a computer programmer and analyst for over 20 years until his retirement in 2009. The last few years, he has worked as a crossing guard with the Southaven Police Department. In his free time, he was an avid reader and history buff. You could find him reading anything about the American Civil War, WWII, or one of his action novels. Sammy was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Gracewood Baptist Church since 1979 with Graceland Baptist before their merge. He served the church by running sound for the services. Outside of church, he had a sound business called, Sam Sound, where he would run sound professionally for weddings and other events. He also sang in the church choir, sang solos, duets and with quartets over the years. Sammy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Zelle Putman Lee; his children: Amanda Zelle Lee, JT Lee, and Evan Matthew Lee; and his sister, Karen King (Cris). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Gracewood Baptist Church on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Calhoun, MS on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:30 am.
