Sandra Kay Hanna Hood, 73, of Southaven, MS passed away on August 6, 2023. Sandra was born on February 9, 1950 in Alma, AR to Wallace Hanna and Wanda Jean South. She was one of the most loving and talented people you could know. She could sing like no other and loved playing the keyboard, which she taught herself to play. She was a great cook and was known by her family for her “kitchen sink casseroles” where she would put everything in them but the kitchen sink and add Fritos to the top. One of her greatest joys in life was being “Nana” to her grandchildren and they loved her dearly. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Jean South; and brother-in-law, Harold Duncan. She is survived by her four daughters: Gena Stanley Rutledge (Kevin) of Bartlett, TN; Ashli Stanley Herbers (Shane) of Memphis, TN; Kellie Stanley Brewer (Terry) of Olive Branch, MS; and Heather Stanley Dean (Justin) of Southaven, MS; her grandchildren: Taylor, Seth, Gage, Bayleigh, Emma, Hanna, Karley, Jacob, and Alex; her siblings: Priscilla Duncan of Sioux Falls, SD; Melinda Schaefer (Ken) of Bartlett, TN; and David South of Memphis, TN; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Gathering for Sandra at 4530 Kings Park Rd., Memphis, TN 38117. Sandra’s daughters would love for any family and friends to come and be with them to celebrate their mom. They know she will be looking down upon everyone celebrating her. The family also wants to thank everyone that has reached out to them and it has meant a lot to them during this difficult time.
