Obituary of Sandy Huffman
Sandra Marlene Huffman, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on May 12th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Sandra, also known as Sandy, was born April 26th, 1942, to James A. Cruse and Gladys L. Green in Champaign, Il. After graduating from Paxton High School, she went on to work as a factory worker at an electrical motor switch company. After working at the motor switch company for a year, she began her career at Chanute Air Force Base in 1960. She went on to become certified for record maintenance and disposition and fuels accounting and standardized supply. During this time, she gave birth to her two sons, Rusty and Mike respectively. In 1969, Sandy met Mike while working at the Air Base. They married June 4th, 1971. In 1972 she gave birth to her third son, John. In 1976, after 16 years at the Air Base, they moved to Cierco, IN. In 1985, her husband Mike began working as an executive of a major retailer allowing Sandy to retire at an early age. They then moved to California before settling in Olive Branch MS in 1994. Sandy was blessed to have travelled over the world visiting South America and Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Poland and her favorite, Rome) before devoting her time to volunteer work for Maples Memorial Church. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents James and Gladys Cruse and her brother, Dick Cruse. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mike Huffman; her sister Nancy Fenters, her sons Russell Seibring (Melissa), Mike Seibring (Andrea), and John Huffman (Connie) She leaves behind her two grand children Lucas Seibring and Savanna Haney (Tanner) She also leaves behind three great grandchildren: Addalyn, Sarah-Grace and Colton. “ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” A visitation for Sandy will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Maples United Methodist Church, 8745 Goodman Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 8745 Goodman Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654. A committal service will occur Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Lebanon Cemetery, 8691 Bethel Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654.
