Stephen “Steve” Douglas Allison, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Lewisburg, MS. He was born on December 18, 1956, to C.E. “Buddy” and Barbara Allison in Memphis, TN. Known to many as Steve, he graduated from Hernando High School in 1973. Steve and his wife, Melanie, built their life together in Olive Branch, MS. He dedicated 40 years of his life to the emulsified asphalt industry before retiring. Outside of work, he found great joy in farming and caring for his cows. Steve loved tending to his hummingbirds, grilling, spending time with his family, and vacationing in the mountains. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs, spending many cherished years with his late dog, Sara, and making new memories with his beloved dog, Callie. Steve was the kind of person who would help anyone in need, no matter what they needed or when they needed it. He was the glue that held his family together and was always willing to offer advice, encouragement, and a helping hand. His wisdom and kindness meant so much to those who knew and loved him. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. “Buddy” and Barbara Jean Allison; his siblings, Allen Eugene “Fat Boy” Allison, Carol Dean; his sister-in-law, Betty Allison, and his nephew, Allen Duane “Hard Rock” Allison. He leaves behind his wife, Melanie Deas Allison; four children: Scott Allison, Shane Allison, Keith Allison (Britny), Tonya Ellis, and his sister, Lisa Bray. Steve also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Hunter Allison, Ty Allison (Laney), Levi Allison, Cooper Allison, Haleigh Parkey, Waylen Allison, Wyatt Allison, Karleigh Allison, and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
