Susan Evans Dunn, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Baptist DeSoto in Southaven, MS. She was born on February 18, 1946 to the late Eddie and Sue Evans in Brownsville, TN. Susan was a devoted follower of the Lord and an active member of Minor Memorial United Methodist Church. Alongside her husband, she joyfully sang in the choir for more than four decades. After retiring from teaching at DeSoto County Schools, Susan looked back on a career where she touched the lives of countless students throughout the years. Susan had a deep affection for hummingbirds, evident in the thirty-plus feeders adorning her yard. Her love for games was boundless; whether it was Scrabble, dominoes, or any game, she always joined in without hesitation. Susan found pleasure in reading, gardening, solving crossword puzzles, and tuning into her beloved TV show, Jeopardy. Her presence will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Sue Evans and her daughter, Debbi Dunn. She leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Jimmie Dunn; her daughter, Cindi Holmes (Jason), and her brother, Bill Evans (Vickie). Susan also leaves behind two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Hunter; her niece, Courtney Wright (Patrick); her nephew, Chris Evans (Monica) and her great niece and nephews: Olivia, Grayson, Cade, Zachary. The family request that memorial contributions in Susan’s memory be made to Minor Memorial UMC, 6120 Goodman Rd W. Walls, MS 38680. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm at Minor Memorial United Methodist Church, 6120 Goodman Rd W. Walls, Ms 38680.
