Timmy was born on February 1, 1983, in Agana, Guam, where his father served as a Naval Flight Officer. He grew up in the Byhalia Presbyterian Church and graduated from Olive Branch High School. Timmy was very active in the band and the school’s yearbook. He attended Northwest Community College where he was the yearbook editor.
Growing up, Timmy was an active member of the Boy Scouts Troop 234 of the Olive Branch Methodist Church. He provided first aid kits to the Olive Branch Parks and Recreation Department for his Eagle Scout project.
Timmy worked for Outback Steakhouse for over 20 years. Through hard work and dedication, he worked his way to Proprietorship of two restaurants – Jonesboro, Arkansas and then Memphis, Tennessee. He was the recipient of the Bloomin Brands Partner of the Year award in 2018. Timmy was a mentor and role model for many young people and leaves a legacy of caring, success and fun for future leaders to emulate.
Timmy was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Savannah Gabriel Klimetz, and his three boys – John Paul (JP) Klimetz (9), Carter James Klimetz (5) and Timothy Tucker Klimetz (4). Throughout his valiant fight, he always put Savannah and his three boys first.
Timmy was the beloved son of Paul and Brenda Klimetz of Olive Branch, MS. He also leaves his brothers Danny (Lauren) Klimetz of Auckland, New Zealand; Jonathan Klimetz of Anaheim, CA and sisters Amanda Klimetz Strickland of Olive Branch, MS; and Kara-Anne Klimetz of Oxford, MS. He also has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish his memory.
Timmy was a fun, outgoing person who enjoyed the luxury of many friends. He and Savannah enjoyed attending Jimmy Buffet concerts (over 20!) and going to Sandals Resorts in the Caribbean. They would always take suitcases filled with school supplies for the local children. Timmy strongly believed in taking care of his community. He sponsored numerous fundraisers over the years and St. Jude Children’s Hospital held a special place in Timmy’s heart with his hope for them to find a cure for childhood cancer.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Timmy’s 4-year-long battle with cancer, we ask donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN, 38105, or the Sandals Foundation at www.sandalsfoundation.org.
