VIRGIL NORMAN (NORM) DOWLER, JR, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness. Norm was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Dowler Wolf Marik, his parents Virgil and Beulah Dowler. Norm is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; daughter Krista Parker (Tommy), sisters Linda Donahue (Larry) Charlotte Bumgarner (Dave), brother Bernie (Ann) grandsons Ryan Parker, Harris Wolf (Alex) granddaughter Allissa Wolf, great-granddaughter Blakely Jo Wolf. Visitation will be held at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church, 4800 Hwy. 305 N. Olive Branch, MS on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Autumn Woods Memorial Park, 6240 Davidson Rd. S. Olive Branch, MS. Friends and family will return to LaBelle Haven Baptist Church for a catered reception. Norm was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church, Olive Branch, MS where he played in the church orchestra. He was formerly a member Getwell Church and Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. While at Trinity, he was a Deacon, supervised the ushers, taught 9th grade boys Sunday school class, created the Youth Clown Ministry and was involved in various Christmas and Easter Programs. For several years, Norm was an Assistant Scout Master for Ole 97 Boy Scouts where he helped several young men become Eagle Scouts, including his grandson, Harris Wolf.
