Vivienne Johnston DeArmond Dorris aged 84 passed away on March 7, 2015 in Southaven, MS. Vivienne was preceded in death by her grandson, William P. Barnes; her first husband Bobby R. DeArmond, and her second husband, Jack M. Dorris. Vivienne (aka Miss Hollywood) is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and David Barnes of Moscow, TN and Donna and Roy Murphy of Mt. Holly, NC. She also leaves behind her grandaughter, Cathleen Barnes Johnston and her grandson in-law Ken Johnston of Gainsville, GA; her granddaughter Alice Barnes of Memphis, TN; her grandson David Brian Barnes of Martin, TN and three great grandchildren, Karina Barnes, Isis Overton and Anwar Overton of Martin, TN. She also left behind her sister, Alice Westfall of Davis, CA, and her nieces Rhonda O'Brien of Davis, CA, Marilyn Moreno of San Jose, CA, Janelle Moore of Singapore and Lisa Collins of California. Vivienne loved bowling, fishing, Tom Selleck, Elvis Presley, traveling, playing the nickel slots in Tunica, MS, and flirting with her doctors. She was a bowling instructor at Bowlhaven Lanes in the 1960s. One of her favorite classes consisted of handicapped children and young adults. She had many fond memories of that time in her life. She had quiet dignity about her but she did not take herself too seriously. She had a quirky (and sometimes naughty) sense of humor that kept her family on their toes. She was a wonderful woman of strength and integrity and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. A private memorial is planned for her at a later date.
