Walter Lawrence Reed

Walter Lawrence Reed, 77 of Olive Branch Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. Born November 7, 1948, in Natchez, MS, Walter lived a life marked by faithful service, quiet humility and unwavering devotion to his Lord, his wife and his family.

Walter deeply loved his wife, Bonnie, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed traveling, attending church, spending time with family and making lasting memories. Whether it was playing music, loving on his pugs Lily and Daisy, or working in his yard at home, Walter found joy in God’s blessings and treasured every moment spent with those he loved.

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a faithful member of Brookside Baptist Church. Walter joyfully served the lord in many capacities over the years. He faithfully served as the drummer, finance chairman, a yokefellow, singing, seniors group leader and meals on wheels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Joseph Reed and Edith Elenor Whitt Reed.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Bonnie Reed; four children: Penny Collins (Joe), Andy Reed (Jodi), Lisa Erhardt (Michael), John Logan (Katie), and eight grandchildren: Logan, Emily, Mia, JC, Wesley, Laura K, Savanna, and Ali Hart.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Brookside Baptist Church, 4993 MS-302 East, Olive Branch, MS 38654.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery at a later date.
