

William H. “Bill” Cole, Jr., 94, of Olive Branch, MS passed away on May 20, 2025. Mr. Cole was born on December 23, 1930, in Portia, AR to the late William H. Cole and Dolie Mikel Cole. He served our country in the United States Army National Guard serving in the Korean War where he earned Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Bronze Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. After his Army service for our country, he worked for the Federal Housing & Urban Development and the State of TN as an auditor for Tobacco & Alcohol Unit. He was very handy with his hands and built the home he and his family lived in for the past 65 years with his own hands. In his free time, he enjoyed farming his land in Arkansas and tending to his garden & plants in Maywood. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Cole of Columbus, MS. Mr. Cole was survived by his wife of 65 years, Polly Ruth Cole; daughter, Anita Ruth Cole Wallace; sister, Joan Cole Williamson, and two grandsons, Cole Wallace (Brennan), and Collyer Wallace. The family requests in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
