Gene was an avid fisherman and camper who loved building bonfires. And no one fried fish like Papaw.
Gene is survived by his son Mike Hardy (Sherry); daughter Karen Conway (Lee); daughter Penny Moncrief (Cliff); sister Mildred Jeffus; brother Hamp Hardy; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife Hilda, his father Wade Hardy and his mother Nelly Hardy; sister Juanita Ward; sister Dorothy England.
A visitation for Gene will be held Saturday, October 11th from 9am-11am at First Baptist Church in Byhalia, Mississippi. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at Byhalia Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church, Byhalia.
