Obituary of Arthur Kenneth Lash
Arthur Lash (June 12, 1950 - January 16, 2022) Beloved husband of Gloria Lash, father of Stephanie Kilpatrick (David Kilpatrick) and Jeffrey Lash (Leslie Hinyard), son of Seymour and Pearl Lash, brother of Jay and Nevin Lash, loving grandfather to Esme, Brynn and Han Hinyard-Lash and Ian and Celia Kilpatrick, and dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Arthur (always known as Art) grew up on Long Island Hicksville, New York before moving to Framingham, Massachusetts, in high school, where he met Gloria. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He and Gloria married in 1970 and this past summer celebrated their 50th anniversary. Art worked as a professor at Nichols College and with Aetna Insurance before a long career with Farm Credit Financial Partners where he was able to explore his love of computers at the dawn of the technology industry. Art lived in Wilbraham, Massachusetts for many years before retiring to Mashpee on Cape Cod, and then to St. Louis. Art loved to laugh and always had a smile. He was known for his love of technology, videography and photography, gardening, painting and wood-turning. He loved being outside either hiking or near the water, and had a thirst for travel, especially by plane. His sweet tooth and adoration for all desserts, especially those baked by Gloria and her family, was legendary. Above everything, Art was a devoted, loving, and unconditionally supportive husband, father and grandfather. He faced his diagnosis of Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease with the same sense of humor with which he approached everything, and was a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. Private funeral service on Friday, January 21 at 10 AM CT. Please see below for Live Stream link. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Art’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
