Elaine Davis Carp Oberman, 92, passed away on August 5, 2019 in St. Louis.

Born in Chicago to the late Abert and Bernice Davis, Elaine moved to St. Louis in 1942 where she would raise her family. Loving mother of Stanford (Mueriel) Carp and Bernice Carp. Beloved grandmother of Elizabeth (Brad) Wallace, Scott (Jamie) Berzon, Brian (Heather) Carp and Adam (Nina) Berzon. Doting great-grandmother of nine. Wife of the late Jack Oberman and the late Herbert Carp.

Elaine was the matriarch of her family, giving advice without judgment, showing pride in their accomplishments, always there to offer support or a hand. A caring friend and consummate hostess, she made the best matzo ball soup and brisket. Elaine graduated from Clayton High School and routinely knew the answer to Final Jeopardy into her 90s.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at Evelyn’s House for their compassionate care. I have known the Carp family for 65 years! Bernice and I had countless sleep overs through the years but I enjoyed being at her house so much because she had the BEST window air conditioners !
I loved that I lived closer to Glenridge because Bernice would eat lunch at my house all the time. Elaine would yell at us both at times but as I got older, I realized that she treated me like a family member! Not that she didn’t have a reason to get mad at us because we got in trouble much of the time. I remember her cooking us a great breakfast with bagels and bacon!! Elaine was beautiful always and I got to see her when she and Bee came to Chicago to see her cousins!
Rest In Peace Dear Elaine, you will be missed greatly❤️
