I too worked with Jana in the 80's at the St. Louis County Probation Office. Jana was so much fun to work with; always laughing and had a smile on her face. She provided levity to an office that was otherwise so serious. She was also an excellent social worker who worked hard to help her clients.
My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends.

I am so sad to hear the news about Jana. I remember a kidnapping birthday party she and her mom created and Jana running into our home to kidnap me!

She had a sparkle about her when I last saw her at a high school reunion when she was expecting her first baby.

What a loss. My thoughts are with the family.

Jana was the only person we knew who looked great in leather pants. She always had her own flair and style, and loved color.
Traveling with Hilary, Hayden, and Alyson was such a treat for her, and we know she treasured every moment.

Hilary, Alyson, and Family,
I know you don't remember me, as you were both small children, but I used to babysit for you. I knew your mom from her cousin Joan, and that is how the babysitting started.
I am very saddened by the loss of your mom, and I want you to know how much always enjoyed bumping into her at various locations. I was also a big fan of your grandmother, or, "aunt Arlene" as I knew her.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family at this very difficult time. I hope wonderful memories will help ease the pain of her loss.

Jana
I will always remember you as a person willing to step up and help other people.
You were the first person to welcome myself and my family to St. Louis. You’ve always included us in family events and expressed your gratitude towards others.
You are in our hearts forever.

JANA AND I BECAME FRIENDS AROUND 1980 WHEN WE BOTH WORKED AT THE ST. LOUIS COUNTY PROBATION AND PAROLE OFFICE. WE HAD A CLOSE GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO LOVED CELEBRATING HALLOWEEN AND NEW YEARS EVE, I HAVE THOUGHT OF THOSE FUN TIMES OFTEN OVER THE YEARS. EVENTUALLY WE ALL BECAME PARENTS, JANA CHERISHED BEING A MOTHER WHICH IS THE GREATEST GIFT A MOTHER CAN GIVE TO HER CHLDREN. HILARY AND ALYSON, SHE WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER YOU BUT WILL BE MISSED SO MUCH.

Andy and I send our deepest condolences. Your mother must have been very proud of you and I’m sure took great comfort in knowing how much you cared for her.
