As an example of Elizabeth’s story, check out the date on Joe’s portrait - (recorded in number of days) by Joe, who with great forbearance, sat for two 2-hour painting sessions. His smile was sustained by the background opera, by the telling of fascinating tales, as well as Aten’s presence.
Thank you for the lovely memorial service, making us smile while we mourn; and enhancing our respect and fondness for Joe. Condolences to us all.

I give credit to Joe for encouraging me to develop the Duckett Creek Sewer District serving St. Charles County and publishing my three books of poetry. He and Edward Hudspeth could not have been closer to me in life and encouragement. Tonight I will light a candle in my heart to burn for the rest of my life honoring one of the greatest men in my life.
