Ehrlich, Sylvia, October 30, 2018 at the age of 95; beloved wife of the late Walter Ehrlich; dear mother and mother-in-law of Ken (Mary Silva) Ehrlich, Susan (Jim Miller) Ehrlich, Steve (Lauren Tucker) Ehrlich, and Jerry (Robin) Ehrlich; dear grandmother of Lauren (Michael) Ermann, Chris Rosenthal, Sara Rosenthal, Aaron (Fae) Edwards-Miller, Sam Miller, Jonathan Ehrlich, Michael Ehrlich, Dani (Jesse Kaye) Rischall, Jenny Rischall, Gabriel (Alexis) Rischall; dear great-grandmother of Zachary and Miles Ermann, Leo and Maya Kaye, Genevieve Edwards-Miller; dear aunt to Charlotte (John) Davis, Donna (Jim) Griffin, Adam Ehrlich, Rachel (Kent) Orlando, Becky (Paul) Allen; beloved daughter to the late Sigmund and Leah Trattner, daughter-in-law to the late Simon and Geitel Ehrlich and sister to the late Norman Trattner; dear sister-in-law to Leah Ehrlich, the late Marvin Ehrlich, the late Beth Ehrlich, and the late Sylvia Kay Trattner; dear cousin and friend.

A graduate of Washington University, Sylvia was an elementary school teacher for many years in the Ritenour School District, and according to her late husband, a renowned teacher and author, was “the real teacher in the family.” An author, herself, Sylvia wrote “Why Not Me,” a collection of poems, anecdotes, and life-long lessons. She will be remembered for her love of family, her unconditional kindness and acceptance, her love of animals, her many stories, and certainly, her famous pistachio cake.

Services: Graveside at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road, Chesterfield on Friday, November 2 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions to The Humane Society of Missouri or the Animal Protective Association of Missouri.
