Barbara Denman

Barbara was born on November 18, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to Walter and Alice Petersen. She became a Registered Nurse and served many in that capacity, both in hospitals and as a school nurse. She loved being a nurse, but even more than that, she loved being a wife and mother.

She married George M. Denman in 1956. Together, they raised their family to know and love God and to care for one another. They nurtured numerous foster children over the years, demonstrating love and compassion.

Upon their retirement, the couple moved to south Texas where they volunteered, first at an elementary school and later at the McAllen Heart Hospital. They enjoyed the sunny, relaxed retirement lifestyle and made many new friends at Texas Trails RV Resort, which was where Barbara made her home for almost the last third of her life!

Barb and George celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2006 and George passed away the following year.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Robert W. Petersen; and her son-in-law, Greg Johnson.

She is survived by:

Daughter Julie (Lynn) Westad and their children Matthew (Becky), Stacia (Matt), and Trevor (Tia).

Daughter Susan Johnson.

Son Stan (Janet) Denman and their children Christopher (Raelyn), Kelsey and Weston (Emily).

Son G. Mark (Lucy) Denman and their children Justin, Kristen, Nicole, and Carolina.

Beloved Foster Son Jim (Michelle) Longbine.

Barbara is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, extended family and friends, including her loyal and faithful friend Charlie, the cat!

Visitation will be August 20th from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
