 Betty and Billy raised a wonderful daughter Patty, who has been one of my best friends since I was in Junior High and my college room mate.  Sorry for the family's loss. I will always think of the Higgins family when I drive by where they lived on Dodge street!

Betty was a woman of faith.  I remember the story in which she used to save a seat next to her in church for her husband, Billy, who would come to Christ later in life and sit next to her.  Her devotion and faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.  I believe that my mother was inspired by Betty and the faith that she lived out.

Our family has such sweet memories of Betty.  My mom Ruth Hiatt..considered her one of her dearest friends and whenever she needed a wise friend's counsel or an intercessor to stand with her in prayer, she called Betty.  It's a beautiful thought to envision her and all those that have gone on before her all together again..healthy and vibrant and catching up like girls do. I remember Sister Betty as a sweet lady with strong Christian values and a really terrific family. I admired both Patty and Stephanie as they were the "coolest" Sunday school teachers a young teen could have. God has called home one of His most special servants.  One of the sweetest and wisest persons I have ever had the privilege of knowing.  I will miss you greatly!  Give the big "E" a hug for me when you see him.

May God bless you children, As you kids already know, you had the most awesome parents anyone could ask for. Your father became one of my best friends (still is ), and your mother was always very very kind to me. Both your dad and mom helped me a lot and taught me a lot when I first became a Christian, for which I'm very thankful. I am so sorry to hear about the death of my aunt Betty, my mom's younger sister and the last of five beautiful girls.  We had been in touch until recently and she was so good about sending me little tidbits about my mom.  I will miss her and her energy very much.  I am unable to attend the funeral since I just heard of her death, but my thoughts and prayers are with the family.  She was much loved.
