Bruce Edwin Howell

Bruce Edwin Howell, 81, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to his family, service to his community, and quiet generosity coupled with his incredible sense of humor.

He was born on April 8,1945 in Salina Kansas, the fourth of five children born to Lawrence E. and Catherine Hatfield Howell.

He graduated from Emporia State University in 1969 and spent his career in the commercial insurance industry. On June 10, 1972, Bruce and Terri Greason were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Osawatomie Kansas and spent 54 years together building

wonderful memories. Bruce was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He believed in doing the right thing, serving others without recognition, and putting family first.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence E. Howell and Catherine Hatfield Howell and his brother, Fred Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Terri; their children Jon, Andrew and Susan; grandchildren, Charles, Alexandra, Samantha and Josephine; his sister, Barbara Rines; his brothers Eric Howell (Jenny) and Tom Howell (Jody); and sister-in-law Sheryl; his brothers-in-law, John

Greason and James Greason; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend and walking buddy, dog Whisky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Osawatomie High School Alumni Association in Bruce’s memory.
