Cheryl R. West

Cheryl lived a life of faith, service, and love. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, she continued her dedication to caring for others through a distinguished career in nursing. After earning her master's degree in nursing at University of Arizona, Cheryl taught at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she shared her knowledge and compassion as a labor and delivery instructor.

Cheryl loved God deeply and carried a strong spiritual presence throughout her life. Her radiant smile, joyful laughter, and warm spirit could light up any room. Her home was a welcoming haven where family always felt loved and included. Holidays at Cheryl's house were especially happy occasions, bringing everyone together around the same table - including former spouse Tom and his wife Darlene. She had a remarkable gift for opening her heart and home, making each person feel like a cherished part of the family.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures - working in her yard, putting together puzzles, and sharing precious naptime snuggles with her great-grandson, Lochlan. Her days were made brighter by gathering with friends at McDonald's, where she enjoyed her favorite breakfast burrito and half-and-half iced tea.

She is survived by her brother Dale, her kids Kristy and Bill Ringel; Kari and Tom Wolfe; her granddaughters, Amber, Abi and Megan; her beloved great-grandson, Lochlan.

Cheryl will be laid to rest with military honors at Omaha National Cemetery with her immediate family in attendance. A Celebration of Life reception will be held and details will follow once confirmed.

In lieu of flowers, as much as she loved them, the family welcomes the following options for memorial donations. A tree planted in her honor through Plant-A-Tree Program or Arbor Day Foundation | Tree Planting Non-Profit. Should you heart choose to send a financial donation to the family, please make checks payable to Kari Wolfe. The family will be deciding on how to honor Cheryl with these gifts. Your presence and support mean the most to us as they would have meant the most to Cheryl.

Cheryl's legacy lives on in the countless lives she cared for, taught, encouraged, and loved. Her faith, laughter, kindness, and devotion to family and friends will be remembered always.
