I am so sorry to read about David as David and the entire Powell family were always so gracious. I recall only good clean fun times at the house on the lake when I would come out with Jay from the old Colonial Press back in the 70's. The last I heard from David was when he so graciously called me in Nashville from his retreat in Naples, FL. In the years since then, I have never met people as honest, friendly, kind, and totally not consumed by their success in life. David, Delbert, and Walter were all such fun. I know David is with the creator. I can still vividly picture the kids learning to water ski. May his hard work and dreams continue on.

Mrs. Powell and family, I am very sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking music (jazz) with Mr. Powell and appreciated the opportunity to work at Omaha Paper for 7 years. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Dave and his brothers back in Vinton grade school. I had seen Dave several times since as I was also in the paper business. Always with a smile and time to talk. He will be missed by many!

So very sorry to hear about Dave.  He was in my brother (Tom O'Keefe's) class at South. I got to know Dave through Omaha Sales & Marketing Assn. and loved his enthusiasm for life and how he loved, and was so proud of, his family.

Our sympathy goes out to the Powell family in the loss of their loved one. Dave generously supported his Omaha South High Alumni Association by giving a yearly scholarship to be awarded to a Omaha South High student, he also helped his alumni in many other ways. Dave will be forever  remembered in our hearts and prayers. He was a true "Packer Backer".

I worked for Dave for 8 years and there was never a dull moment.  He was a unique guy and always treated me well.  The stories he told were priceless and you always knew where you stood with him.  I was sorry to hear about his passing tonight and hope he is at peace.

Mr. Powell was a great man and his love with Bobbie Ann has been passed onto you all. I still remember the first time I met your father at a Alumni Golf Tourney and he quoted that he had two wild sons in Keith and Kevin. From there on out, he passed along his life, his insight and his experience. I feel truly blessed to have known him and to be in his presence.
