Diana was born on August 8th, 1947, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Diana with her family moved to Omaha, NE shortly after. Her father, Ralph, had served in the 2nd World War and Korean conflict. Diana attended Rosewater Grade School in Omaha, NE. Her father worked for the U.S Postal Service and her mother Glenda worked for State Farm Insurance. After some time, her parents built a home in Carter Lake, IA. Ten years later Diana’s sister Faye was born. Diana attended Thomas Jefferson High School. She later went to Iowa State University. Diana returned home due to a severe illness. After she was well Diana went to work for Sidles Distributor.
In 1974, Diana was introduced to her husband Leonard. He was assigned to Offutt AFB. When Leonard and Diana were married, she ended up being a stepmom to four children: Tony, Kurt, Barbara, and Kevin Lang. Diana later worked for Schering-Plough and later retired in 2009 from Cox Communication. During those times Diana graduated from University of Nebraska with a finance degree.
Her youngest daughter Anne Lang-Dorf (Pietig) was born November 15, 1982. At that time Diana and Leonard lived in Springfield, NE. Later they built a home in Papillion, NE. Diana and Leonard built a home later in Lavista, NE.
Diana loved to travel, covering Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Diana and Leonard would compete while fishing for the smallest, biggest, and the most fish caught and released. Of course, Diana always won that contest.
Diana was a great cook and baker. Grand kids and the like had favorites. Laura was pumpkin bars, Phillip was cheesy broccoli soup, son-in-law Will enjoyed her homemade chicken noodle soup (well maybe everything), Beth cheesecake. This could have gone on but Diana catered to everyone’s likes. Even her grandson Jackson that always had to have sausage and toast. Diana had to do the sausage and toast because Grandpa Leonard didn’t know how to do that.
Diana spoiled her loved ones in so many ways and loved them so much she will be missed by her immediate and extended family.
