On Thursday, November 24, Donna Clare Scarborough, a beloved sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brother Jack Harting and daughter Kathrine McAfoos. She was ninety-one years old.
Born to Clarence and Clare Harting in South Omaha on November 14, 1931. Donna graduated from Tech High School and attended Omaha Metro Community College. She retired as Vice-President of Continental General Life Insurance Company (CGIC). After retirement, she worked at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE as a volunteer for many years. Donna was an active member of the Red Hat Society in Omaha.
She was an uplifting, encouraging, and generous spirit. She was a faithful Believer, avid reader, organist, crafter, and fashionable dresser. She went by many names: Donna, Mom, Aunt-Granny, Grandma Turtle, and G-Ma. She will be deeply missed by her children Jeanne Albertucci (Mario), Michael McAfoos (Ai Min Qiao), and Donald McAfoos, her brother Gordon (Janie), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, 12/10/22, at 1:00 pm at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home located at 5701 Center St., Omaha, NE.
