Duane Eugene Sivadge, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully into the presence of His Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and faithful service.
Duane was born on October 8, 1938, in Fontanelle, Iowa. He graduated from high school in 1957 and went on to attend CE Business College in Omaha NE, where he studied accounting and business. In 1958, he began his career with Employers Mutual Insurance, where he faithfully worked for 42 years until his retirement in August of 2000.
On September 18, 1960, Duane married Sandi Juhl, and together they raised three sons: Kent (1961), Terry (1964), and Steven (1967). On September 27, 1967, Duane made the most important decision of his life when he accepted Christ, a commitment that shaped the rest of his life and legacy. Later, on July 11, 1992, he married Connie Gwartney, with whom he shared many meaningful years.
Duane served his country by entering the Army National Guard in April 1961 and continued in reserve and inactive duty following his discharge in October 1967.
Throughout the 1970s, Duane was deeply involved in promoting gospel music concerts, working with groups such as the Jubilee Quartet, The Inspirationals, The Couriers, The Oak Ridge Boys, and The Cathedrals. He also faithfully served on the Youth for Christ (YFC) Board during the late 1970s. He and his family enjoyed attending the Branson Singfest annually. A man who loved both faith and family, Duane especially enjoyed time spent playing tennis, often competing in tournaments alongside his sons. He called Christ Community Church home for 35 years. He and Connie were faithful SALT class members and active in many ministries.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Evelyn Sivadge, and his wife, Connie Sivadge.
He is lovingly remembered by his three sons: Kent (Carol) Sivadge of Waxahachie, Texas, and their children Blake (Vanessa) and Alexia (Zach) Eller; Terry Sivadge of Fort Worth, Texas, and his children Tamara and Kassandra; and Steve (Jean) Sivadge of Omaha, Nebraska, and their children Haley (Cyle) Kizer, Adam (Lana), and Cade (Waan Noi).
He is also survived by his stepsons: Les Gwartney of Omaha and his son Brock; Dan Gwartney (Christina) of Missouri and their daughter Kali; and Chris Forcade of Omaha and his children Ethan and Joey.
Duane is further survived by his siblings: sisters Barb (Lynn) Wilson of Stillwater, Minnesota, and Marilla Robbins of Des Moines, Iowa; and brothers Russ (Grace) Sivadge of Indianola, Iowa, and Cliff (Laura) Sivadge of Norwalk, Iowa.
He was a proud great grandfather of five. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Duane’s life was marked by steady faith, enduring love for his family, and a commitment to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. His legacy will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
