Dear Connie and family,

It has been over 10 years since I worked with Eddie at Marriott. Funny, committed, kind, dependable...he was always willing to help in any way needed. 

Anything that needed done or set up or repaired, Eddie was always available to do it promptly and correctly. And always with a smile on his face and something clever to say.

 I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. He was one of the greats. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I worked at Marriott Res Center with Eddie. What a dear fellow he was. We shared lots of laughs and jokes during those years. Anything that he could do, he was always willing to help and get it done. We talked about golf a lot.  Never played together, he was way much better than me!! Such fond memories of a really good guy. Rest in Peace, Eddie. 

I always remember he was here on Saturday mornings and he and the others were always having their morning coffee anx donuts before starting work he was one of kind.

Eddie always knew that our department had the best potlucks at the Marriott Reservation Center. He also knew I would often bring fresh pineapple. He would "bug" me about when the next potluck would be and if I was bringing pineapple. I usually gave in and brought it since he would pout if I said I was bringing something else. You were always good for a laugh Ed! RIP.

Eddie was one of a kind. He was always so quick witted and would make you laugh so hard at any given time. He would help me unload supplies for any event we were having at Marriott, or he would actually point to Juan or Brian and direct them how to do it. I remember pulling in with my music jamming and he was like I could hear you coming from a mile away. He also made it possible for me to give someone a gift they so wanted, tickets to the CWS. I will think of him often and I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him. 
May you find comfort in the many memories that are shared.

I first met the Linhart family in the early 50s as they delivered newspapers to our home on 52 st. 

I later met Ed, Jim and Joe on the second hill where we played baseball sun-up to sundown daily...weather permitting . We only had one or two bats (nails in them and held together with tape),  maybe one ball and 5 to 6 gloves...passed around as needed.  I remember Ed would take his shoes off to run faster.   Teams consisted of anyone walking by and wanting to play. 

We would swing across Q st on a rope swing, stopping traffic as drivers thought we would hit them.  We’d hide in the cave close to the rope swing for a smoke break.  Swim in the Papio creek on hot summer days. We bought firecrackers from Ed and Jim.    Played softball for Skis bar...all such great memories.

I last saw Ed on Feb 23, 2018  at the DAV fish fry... still upbeat and happy.  He told me “It was better to look down at the grass than up at it.”   RIP Tom Paltani and Family 

Dear Connie & Family.  Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with y'all.
I'm not sure when I actually first met Ed, but from that time on until I last saw him at the 2017 CWS  he'd always yell out "hey Texas".  No matter how much they've changed things an Omaha family was started on my first trip in 1984 and Ed has been a big part of that family.  The stories, the friendship, the ever present cigar will always be a part of my life that I will laugh about for years.  So Ed, as Bob Hope would say; "Thanks for the memories" and I'll be listening for your friendly welcome at the ballyard.

I am so sorry for your loss, My prayers are with you all, when I first met Eddie  he was the most friendly person there. I enjoyed talking to him very versed.  A wonderful man gone too soon. It was a great pleasure knowing him and working at Marriott with him as well. God has gained a beautiful Angel. 

Dear Connie, 
I am very sorry for your loss.  When Eddie joined Marriott years ago, I don't think he even grasped how much he would touch the lives of so many here.  He gained many friends.  He was always quick with a laugh that could brighten your day at any given moment.  He truly was a great guy and eager to buy you a beer when you seen him off site somewhere.  He was just a terrific and hard working individual.  We will miss him.


     We are so sorry to hear of Ed passing.  As South Omaha boys, Howard grew up knowing Ed and Connie is a long time friend of mine.  Ed was a no nonsense kind of guy.  He said what he meant and he meant what he said, and we will miss that.
     We are sorry that driving back from Arizona, we won’t be there in time for the funeral, but we will keep Connie in our thoughts and pray that she can find comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Not sure why my dad called him Fast Eddie but that’s how I will always remember him.  Ed & Connie where always the “special” Aunt and Uncle when they would come to visit.  I can’t imagine seeing Connie walk through the door without him, he will be missed and feel fortunate to have known him.  Love you Connie!

Eddie was one of a kind.  He had a good soul and a heart of gold and I will miss him.  He was quick to make you laugh and quick to buy you a drink depending on which one you needed.  The Omaha office at Marriott wasn't the same when Eddie retired and the world won't be the same with Eddie gone.   

For Connie and the rest of Eddie's family ~ I am so very sorry for your loss.   You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
