Eleanor May Magnuson

Eleanor grew up on the Poplar farm attended Mt Zion grade school and Audubon High School from which she graduated in 1951. After graduation, she worked in Harlan, Iowa for 7 years. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1959 where she was employed in the accounting department of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company for 28 years until retiring in 1987. Eleanor married Wayne Magnuson on February 25, 1978 at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Omaha. She was an avid bowler, bowling on multiple leagues throughout her life. She enjoyed playing golf in her younger years and had a passion for watching all golf tournaments on television. In addition to bowling and golf, Eleanor was an avid Nebraska Husker Fan. She enjoyed her weekly Bingo evenings with her twin sister Elsie. She also loved to bake for family, making the Danish Pastry for all family gatherings.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne Magnuson, twin sister Elsie Cerveny, Sister Esther Henderson, brother Kenneth (Carolyn) Sand, sister-in-law Nancy Sand, brother-in-law William Magnuson, Step Children, David (Rohn) Magnuson, and Donna (Dan) O’Connell, Grandchildren Deanna (Chris) Akers, Douglas (Stacey) Bosse’, Amy (Yannik) Vossmann, Adam (Zoey) O’Connell. Nieces, Nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grand-children.

She is preceded in death by Sisters Mildred Sullivan, Ruth Crandall. Brothers, Harald Sand, Harold Sand, Leroy Sand, Evold Sand, Ejnar Sand. Brother-in-laws, Don Sullivan, Chuck Henderson, Joseph Cerveny, Dick Crandel. Sister-in-laws Mary Sand, Ladonna Sand.
