Elma Maxine (Henderson) Coston was born August 13, 1921 to parents, Hazel and Clifford Henderson, in Creston, Iowa. She attended grade school in Creston, moving to New Market where she graduated from high school with the class of 1941.
On March 14, 1942 she married Glen "Pete" Coston. They lived in Nebraska for 2 years before returning to New Market and purchasing a home where she lived until 2014. Maxine attended the New Market Christian Church, was a 50 plus year member of The Order Of Eastern Star, and was also a member of The Women Who Care.
Maxine worked at Parris-Dunn, was a cook at the New Market school, chaperoned girls sporting events, sewed at Lorraine Wear in Bedford, was an activity director at Golden Rod Manor and volunteered for numerous other activities. Maxine and Pete loved to travel in their camper and going on "mystery tours." Maxine also made several trips through the years to Branson, Missouri with her good friend Lorraine Eighmy.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Hazel; husband, "Pete"; siblings, Charlotte Henderson, Opal Cowger, Roslyn Meier, Marjorie Obraza, Radene Tubrick, Cliff Henderson and Bill Henderson. Maxine will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
