Fannie Jo Russ, age 91, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. Fannie was born May 22, 1930, in Greenwood, Mississippi. Fannie was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Nathaniel F Russ; her parents Joseph Singleton (Sylvasta Jones). She was a member of Freedom Worship Center for 30 years where she had a tremendous impact on the members and visitors of the church. Her Hobbies: gardening, baking, sewing, and talking on the phone (LOL) Fannie had 9 brothers and sisters: Earl, Louella, Ethel, Grady, Harvey, Maggie, James, Paul (Singleton), and Sylvester McCaskil (aka Red). Fannie had 3 sons and 2 daughters by marriage: Larry J Ellis (deceased) 3 children from former wife (Relina): Kwame Ellis, Nandi Ellis, Ashanti Ellis-Corbin; Seth C Ellis, (deceased), 3 children from wife (Regina): Dr. Simone Ellis – Lee Carmen Ellis – Carter Seth Ellis Jr.; Nathan L Russ (Angela), Larell Ware, Janita Collins, Nei-Lani Saville-Russ, Amia Russ; Debbie Russ, Glenn Russ,(Katina) Michaela Griggs, (Montice); Barbara L Russ, (daughter), Sabrina Moody, Malina Moody, Latina Rencher; and a host of Great and Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Extended Family and Friends. And we can’t forget her Beloved Dog Dolly that stood by her side and comforted her until she was called home.
A public visitation for Fannie will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
