Preceded in death by husband, Thomas R. Gomez; daughter, Julie A. Gomez; sister, Wilma M. Lenzen. Survived by daughters, Rebecca Wingate (Larry Younkins, husband) and daughter, Peggy Gomez (Pepe Fierro, fiance) and son-in-law, Scott Hendrickson.
In addition to raising 3 daughters, Faye was a librarian, elementary school reading specialist, office manager, and created and ran a before and after school program for kids at St. Thomas Moore. Faye was named Woman of the Year by the Rotary Club in Omaha and honored by the Girl Scouts of America. She loved politics and was actively involved in numerous local campaigns and very proudly worked to elect Jimmy Carter as president. Faye and her sister Wilma attended the inauguration as guests of the new president. Faye loved cats and was also an active artist and created beautiful works in oils, stained glass and beads. The greatest gifts she gave her girls were the love of reading, to be inclusive of others and the belief that anything aspired is possible with hard work.
