It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Floris Arlene (Sanders) Sledge on July 5, 2022, in Omaha, NE. Floris was born on June 13 1929, in Clinton Township, IA to C. Elmer Sanders and Beulah (Nicewanger) Wycoff.
Floris met and wed Albert J Sledge, residing in Omaha where they raised their family. She worked for many years and eventually retired from Western Electric in Omaha, NE. She was a member of the South Omaha Horticultural Society and she loved flowers and gardening. Floris loved to find a good garage sale too, finding treasures to take home. Floris liked to travel, taking different trips to visit family members, road trips with her children and taking a cruise with her children.
Floris resided at Heritage Ridge in Bellevue, where she developed many friendships through the years.
Floris passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Preceded in death by her husband Albert J Sledge, daughter-in-law Lynne C Sledge, her parents, siblings and many other family members. Survived by her children Albert C Sledge, Gary Sledge and Diane Yagash; grandchildren Frank Yagash, Krissy (Karl) Hoskinson, Angela Sledge, Christopher (Samantha) Walker and Terri (Shawn) Hartley; many great-grandchildren as well as nieces and a nephew.
A visitation for Floris will be held Monday, July 11, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
