around him. He had just celebrated his 85th birthday. He is survived by his wife Emiko and his daughter Corinne. Fred was born in Anniston, Alabama to Sam and Maggie Ward. His two siblings were David
Ward and Dorothy Young. In his younger years, he served in the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer/Chief Radioman. After retiring from the military, he sold cars at Mike Salta Pontiac in Hawaii where he later met and married Emiko. He was an avid golfer and a self-taught guitar player. He loved listening to blues, country, jazz,
and bluegrass. He lived in many places, but his final home was with his wife, Emiko in Omaha, Nebraska in the Field Club District. Fred was a loyal Alabama Crimson Tide fan but also cheered on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His sense of humor, generous spirit in helping people, and devotion to his family will be
greatly missed.
