Gloria Jean Hoeper

Gloria was born on January 15, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska to Martin Robert and Wanda Lou Borgeson.

She is preceded in passing by parents Robert and Wanda Lou, sister Marilynn Halverson, sister-in-law Crystal Eicke and in-laws Frank and JoAnn Hoeper.

Gloria is survived by sons William Borgeson and Michael T. Hoeper, and daughter Autumn (Austin) Burke, siblings Robert (Mary Ann) Borgeson, Linda Love, Richard (Colleen) Borgeson, Barry (Lisa) Borgeson, grandchildren Alexah, Gavin, Ethan, Isiah, Madison, Jasmyne, Sydney, Charmony, Jordan, and Ashton, several bonus kids and lots of amazing nieces and nephews.

She grew up in Omaha with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She graduated from Benson High in 1974. Gloria had Billy when she was 22 years old, then met and married Michael W. In 1979, had 2 more children, then divorced in 1995, she never remarried.

Gloria maintained a career at Vickers for 9 years until they closed their doors in 2001. She made a career change to housekeeping and worked in several hospitals, nursing homes, and hotels until she received her lung cancer diagnosis in 2018. She underwent a lobectomy and chemo, and in 2020, she was diagnosed with a 2nd lung cancer and underwent radiation.

Gloria spent her life dedicated to her family and children, whether she was practicing with her daughter and nieces for an upcoming dance recital when they were kids, or cheering on her grandkids at their sporting events. Gloria loved the holidays, line dancing and doing crafts, her recent obsession was Diamond Art. She always celebrated the small wins with you, and made friends everywhere she went and she loved all of us so deeply.

Gloria fought a long, tough battle, and passed peacefully in her sleep on July 17, 2026.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at The Dubliner Pub at 1205 Harney St in the Old Market in Omaha, Nebraska on August 2nd, 2026 from 11am-2pm.
