She was born on 30 September 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Walter (Ace) and Ann (Lucyznski) Sempek. She grew up in Omaha graduating from South High School.
She enjoyed the bright lights of the casinos, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, sitting around the campfires, cookouts spending time with her family and listening/dancing to Polka music.
JoAnn touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
JoAnn was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Leonard Voss, whom she married in 1955, her parents Ace and Ann Sempek, brother, Robert (Bob) Sempek, two sisters, Dolores Lewis and Lorraine Abbot and daughter Denise Kazlow. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Cox, her son, Kirt (Pam) Voss, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
