John Dale Eltiste

John was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Alma (Kaiser) Eltiste; and younger brother, Vernon Kent Eltiste.

Those left to mourn John’s passing include his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy (Hoy) Eltiste; children, Michael (Rhonda) Eltiste of Fate, TX, and Christopher Eltiste of Grants Pass, OR; grandsons, Christian Eltiste and Brock Eltiste; brother, Howard (Kitty) Eltiste of Holdrege, NE; and many other family and friends.

John was a loving husband. He always had a story to tell and never met a stranger. Many people have described John as being a mentor and lifesaver to them. For the last 8 years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling in his RV across this beautiful country, especially visiting the Smoky Mountains in the fall. Throughout his life, John had many pet cats who he loved.

John was a member in good standing of the Papillion Masonic Lodge #39, the Tangier Shrine, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. In his younger years, John worked for Chemlawn and Lesco in management. He was also a member of the Omaha Grounds Maintenance Association, where he made many lifelong friendships. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
