January 22, 1945-January 16, 2021
Age 75.
John was born in St. Louis MO, on January 22, 1945, to Daucy and Bernice Stagner. He attended Central High School in St. Louis. John joined the AF on October 1, 1962. He had a short break in service and then reenlisted serving until his retirement on January 1, 1989. John retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a cook, computer operator, and plumber. He was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB MI; Lindsey AS, Germany; Kadena AFB, Okinawa; Offutt AFB NE (twice); Rhein-Main AB, Germany; and Cannon AFB NM. Post-retirement he worked at Stryker Soft Water and as a civilian plumber at Offutt AFB. John thoroughly enjoyed retirement. Despite living in Omaha, Nebraska, he never lost his Missouri roots and followed his favorite baseball team, the Cardinals. While he wasn't a huge sports fan, you could sometimes catch him in the basement watching the Cardinals' games. John liked to travel and play cards (pinochle and pitch) and board games. He was idolized by Annabelle and Radar (must have had something to do with food!). John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife Sandie and daughter Lindsey; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 400 North Washington, Papillion NE. Interment: Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to First Lutheran Church. Memorials suggested to: Josie Harper Hospice House or First Lutheran Church.
