John was born on March 2, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska to John & Clara Synowicki. He graduated from St. Francis grade school, Cathedral High School and Omaha University (UNO) with a degree in Business and Engineering. He worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (1960 – 1966) as a Statistical Quality Control Engineer. He also worked at AT&T (Western Electric) in Omaha (1966 – 1992) as a Statistical Quality Control Engineer.

He enjoyed golfing and watching many different types of sports. He participated on the golf team at Western Electric (AT&T) and won many tournaments.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John & Marilyn met in April of 1953 and were married on April 7, 1956. They were married 64 years and raised 5 children together. They have 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
